1965 Fender Princeton Reverb Amp

1965 Fender Princeton Reverb Amp

This vintage 1965 Fender Princeton Reverb amp has just come in from its original owner! It's a nicely preserved example with a very cool Jensen C10N speaker with 2nd week of '67 date code. It was likely replaced early on in the amp's lifetime. The original owner couldn't remember replacing it. It's a nice upgrade from the more common Oxford 10J4 with smaller magnet.

Make and Model: Fender Princeton Reverb-Amp

Year: 1965. Chassis build date stamp "4465" (44th week of 1965), tube chart code "OK" (1965, November), output transformer code "606-539" (Schumacher, 1965, 39th week), power transformer code "606-542" (Schumacher, 1965, 42nd week). How To Date A Vintage Fender Guitar Amp

Originality: All parts original except warranty replaced speaker in 1967 (large magnet Jensen!), filter capacitor can, grounded power cord, bias section capacitor and resistor.

Playability: Excellent! It has just been inspected and serviced with filter capacitor can and grounded power cord. It's an excellent sounding example.

Notes: My favorite Princeton Reverbs are the ones that have the large magnet Jensen speaker found sometimes in 1965 then again in late 1967 and early 1968 with the drip edge cosmetic. This example has all the thick clean tone and drive that the black faceplate era Princeton Reverbs are known for.
