1959 Gibson ES-335 Sunburst Thin Top

1959 Gibson ES-335 Sunburst Thin Top

We're thrilled to offer this clean 1959 Gibson ES-335 T with all the best features: thin top, good neck angle, factory stop tail, and fat neck. We purchased this guitar from the son of its original owner, who was a drummer but luckily inherited this guitar. It's 100% original throughout, but we installed reproduction tuners since the original buttons have crumbled and the machines are a bit stiff. It has suffered no breaks, repairs, or extra holes of any kind. It's a stunning player with harmonically rich tone from its original PAF humbucking pickups. The "T" FON prefix indicates that the build began in 1958 and the serial number indicate that this ES-335 shipped from Gibson in February of 1959.

Measurements: 7.8 lbs / 3.55 kg total weight. The neck measures 1.71" wide at the nut (1 11/16"), 0.89" deep at the 1st fret, and 1.00" deep at the 12th fret. The neck pickup reads 7.70k ohms and the bridge pickup reads 7.35k ohms.

Originality: All parts, finish, and solder appear to be original to this guitar. Reproduction Klusons are currently installed, but the originals tuners are in tact and included. Note: the metal strap buttons are non-standard, but do appear to be original.

Playability: Excellent! There's no fret wear and the neck is straight. The truss rod functions as intended.

Condition: Excellent. This is a collector clean example with only light checking throughout.

Included: The original brown and pink Lifton hardshell case is included.

Fine Print: All guitars ship via FedEx Priority Overnight for domestic sales or FedEx Priority International. I offer a 48 hour approval period beginning on delivery for all sales during which you are welcome to opt for a return as long as the guitar is still in as-sent condition. I do not charge a restocking fee, but any non-refunded payment processing fees, outbound shipping, and return shipping costs are subtracted from the refund in the case of a return.
