1955 Gibson Les Paul Custom

1955 Gibson Les Paul Custom

Check out this killer 1955 Gibson Les Paul Custom in original Ebony finish that's recently come in from the family of its original owner! It's a killer player after a clean refret inside the binding and the neck has no breaks or repairs. Both pickups are nicely balanced after we shimmed the bridge pickup to be a bit closer to the strings. The articulate yet fat sounding AlNiCo V staple neck pickup compliments the classic P-90 bridge pickup very nicely.

Measurements: 9.3 lbs / 4.25 kg total weight. The neck measures 1.69"/ 42.9mm wide at the nut, 0.91" deep at the 1st fret, and 1.00" deep at the 12th fret. The neck pickup reads 8.54k ohms and the bridge pickup reads 7.75k ohms.

Originality: Fresh refret inside the binding with medium tall/original width fret wire. Both capacitors are new old stock 1950s Grey Tiger caps (originals with broken legs in the case) and the bridge pickup tone pot was replaced in the late 50s/early 60s with same brand potentiometer. The rectangle part of the Custom inlay on the headstock is a replacement piece of original style white pearl.

Playability: Killer! The neck is straight, the refret is meticulous, and the electronics function as intended.

Condition: Very good. There are typical nicks/dings/scratches and light checking throughout.

Included: The original Lifton case is included.

Fine Print: All guitars ship via FedEx Priority Overnight for domestic sales or FedEx Priority International. I offer a 48 hour approval period beginning on delivery for all sales during which you are welcome to opt for a return as long as the guitar is still in as-sent condition. I do not charge a restocking fee, but any non-refunded payment processing fees, outbound shipping, and return shipping costs are subtracted from the refund in the case of a return.
